Community at the heart of every ceremony

Australia House Institute Inc. is a not-for-profit established in 2024 on the Mornington Peninsula. Our work depends on volunteers, neighbours, young people, and partners who care about how we mark national days and ancient celebrations together.

Volunteers

Hands that make the ceremony possible

Volunteers welcome guests, support set-up and pack-down, and help our ceremonies run with care and calm. If you would like to join the team — for Australia Day, ANZAC Day, Sunset Garden Talks, or the Winter Solstice — we would be glad to hear from you.

Community activity

Gathering in the Peninsula’s most beautiful places

From Seawinds Gardens at Arthurs Seat to Point King and Dromana, our events give residents, families, First Nations communities, newcomers, and visitors a shared place to reflect, respect, and celebrate — outdoors, and open to all.

Ceremonies that set a tone for the year

We produce national-day and seasonal ceremonies with music, protocol, and a clear sense of occasion — events the Peninsula can take pride in, created with local artists, partners, and community groups.

Education with youth and the community

Young voices in the ceremony

Young people take part as performers, speakers, and musicians — bringing energy and skill to national days and seasonal gatherings. We make space for youth to share talent and voice alongside elders and the wider community.

Protocol at national events

Respect, care, and proper form

National days and commemorations deserve thoughtful protocol — Welcome to Country and cultural elements led in partnership with community, the raising of the flags, the National Anthem, and a ceremony shape that honours place and people.

Established 2024 on the Mornington Peninsula

We were founded with a simple vision: to give our community meaningful ways to gather, reflect, and celebrate together. From dawn services to sunset talks, our events honour place, history, and culture with care and protocol.

Looking ahead, our Winter Solstice ceremony is a new signature gathering — read more about Winter Solstice.
